Mid-Week Surprise Post - Demi Moore's Look

I like Demi Moore's casual put together look. She always looks so much more stylish than her husband in my opinion.

In putting this together I found a similarly cut sweater. It is striped rather than printed but it has the surplice neckline and the different colored ribbing at the neckline. Any pair of good black pants you own either straight legged or with a flare would work. Sunglasses and a simple gold pendant. I'd choose a black pointy toe pump.

Jessica Simpson's Look

I am going to try my hand at a celebrity/designer inspired fashion blog. I'll post my version of an outfit every week on Sunday. One of the things I want to do to make this blog a little different than the others is to discuss the choices and tradeoffs I make in picking the outfit. Let's start with Jessica Simpson.

Here is the look I was inspired by.

I decided for this particular outfit I would focus on the color and silhouette more than the fabric. Here is the inspired outfit on a real girl's budget. The sleeves aren't quite right (but I think they are probably flattering on more body types that the original dress) and I like that it has the deep-v and empire waist of the original dress. I own the boots I feature here, they are wonderful and comfortable. I suspect that Jessica isn't actually carrying that bag but is hocking it for Macy's, still I added a black patent bag for good measure.

Grecian Party Dress from Alloy $38.50

Franco Sarto Timber Boots from Smartbargains.com $59.97

Forever21 cross necklace $5

Forever21 Medallion Necklace $4.80

Handbag from Overstock $64.99

Grand Total $173.26

If you think that the fabric and hue are more important than the color and silhouette, than choose this red satin dress for $105.
