I am going to try my hand at a celebrity/designer inspired fashion blog. I'll post my version of an outfit every week on Sunday. One of the things I want to do to make this blog a little different than the others is to discuss the choices and tradeoffs I make in picking the outfit. Let's start with Jessica Simpson.
Here is the look I was inspired by.

I decided for this particular outfit
I would focus on the color and silhouette more than the fabric. Here is the inspired outfit on a real girl's budget. The sleeves aren't quite right (but I think they are probably flattering on more body types that the original dress) and I like that it has the deep-v and empire waist of the original dress. I own the boots I feature here, they are wonderful and comfortable. I suspect that Jessica isn't actually carrying that bag but is hocking it for Macy's, still I added a black patent bag for good measure.

If you think that the fabric and hue are more important than the color and silhouette, than choose this
red satin dress for $105.
